Who Do YOU Want To Marry?

A reader writes, "Hey, Lauren, who do you want to marry this week? (Actually, it wasn't a reader who wrote that. It was one of my students. But it sounds so much cooler to say "a reader.")

The answer, surprisingly, is Alex Rodriguez. Alex, in case you don't know, is the third baseman for the New York Yankees. This is a huge scandal, because, when it comes to baseball players, I try to never cheat on Derek Jeter (shortstop for the Yankees.) I have been known, on occasion, to have brief periods where I'm in love with Gabe Kapler, who plays outfield for the Red Sox. If you saw Gabe, YOU WOULD KNOW WHY. My boyfriend's grandfather even said once, "That Gabe Kapler. He's a muscleman." Anyway, my conscience always takes over (usually after I see Derek make some amazing play where he jumps into the stands for the good of the team, which, let's face it, is HOT.) and I pledge my love to Derek once again.

This week, however, I have apparently sunk to a new low, because Alex is not only another baseball player, he's Derek's teammate. It's like cheating on your boyfriend with his best friend. I'm not going to think about it, though, because, the Jeopardy Teen Tournament is on right now, and it's the only time I know all the answers. Also, Miss Teen USA starts at 9!! How fun is that??
